The 3Com Switch 4500G has 2 rear slots for dual-port 10-Gigabit modules. This module uses CX4 4X-InfiBand cables in lengths up to 3 meters, sold separately.

10-Gigabit Ethernet is a standards-based method for connecting at performance 10x that of Gigabit Ethernet, and is the perfect aggregation technology when deploying gigabit to the desktop or for interconnecting core and distribution switches.

Provides two high-performance 10-Gigabit connections between devices for bandwidth-intensive applications.

Uses CX4 4X-InfiBand cables, sold separately.

Provides a migration path from multiple aggregated Gigabit Ethernet links to high performance 10-Gigabit Ethernet switch-to-switch connections.

Inserts easily into the expansion slot at the back of any model of the Switch 4500G family.
